Registered nurses are the backbone of the healthcare industry. With a growing population, increasing rates of chronic conditions, and a greater need for preventative care, the demand for registered nurses will only increase.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for registered nurses was $77,600 in May 2021 and is expected to grow.
Over the next decade, registered nurse employment is projected to grow 9 percent from 2020 to 2030, about as fast as the average for all occupations. About 194,500 openings for registered nurses are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as retiring.

If you’re interested in a career as a physical therapist assistant, you’re not alone. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Employment Projections, employment of PTAs and aides is projected to grow 32 percent from 2020 to 2030, much faster than the average for all occupations.
The median annual wage for physical therapist assistants was $61,180 in May 2021. These professionals earned an average hourly wage of $29.66 and an average yearly salary of $63,700.
About 23,800 openings for physical therapists assistants and aides are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as retiring.

If you’re considering a career as a medical assistant, now is an excellent time to start. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of medical assistants is projected to grow 15 percent from 2023 to 2033, which is much faster than the average for all occupations.
The median annual wage for medical assistants was $44,200 in May 2023. These professionals earned an average hourly wage of $21.25 and an average yearly salary of $45,560, with top earners making over $57,000 depending on location and work setting.
Each year, approximately 114,600 job openings for medical assistants are projected nationwide. These openings are expected to result from both growing demand and the need to replace workers who transfer to other roles or retire.

You do not have to go to medical school to become a PTA. But you should check that the school you choose is licensed by the State Department of Education and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
You may study to become a PTA right out of high school.
Suppose you’re not sure but are looking for something flexible and autonomous. In that case, you should consider the many benefits that a career as a PTA could bring, including that you can help people regain their quality of life. Also, the Miami-Dade county means average salary for a Physical Therapist Assistant is $67,220, with a mean hourly wage of $32.32. O*NET Online lists Physical Therapist Assistant as a job with a Bright Outlook, meaning Bright Outlook occupations are expected to grow rapidly in the next several years. They may have large numbers of job openings or are new and emerging occupations.
If you are attending school in Florida, you must attend a school that is licensed by the Florida Department of Education to offer Associate Degree Programs, specifically Professional Nursing Programs and you should check that the school is licensed by the state’s Board of Nursing.
To take the NCLEX-RN, you must be a nursing program graduate.
Yes, provided you do not fail any courses, you may graduate in 24 months. The 24 months include the general education and core courses required to become a nurse graduate.
